Where did Skipper Field Get Its Name?

Story by The Bowen Team / March 23, 2023

Inside Bowen Village, there’s always a story behind the name of an amenity or district, and Skipper Field is no exception. The newest park in Bowen is a full-acre interactive park space featuring a pirate ship playground, but don’t let that fool you. Skipper Field was named in honor of Fred Skipper, Bowen’s project developer. Fred joined The Wrenn Group leadership team in 2013, and has been overseeing Bowen’s financial objectives and underwriting, general contractor negotiations, community management and project crews for the past ten years. Known affectionately as “Freddie”, he’s got a great sense of humor and brings levity and enthusiasm to the Bowen team daily. The Wrenn Group’s founder & visionary Ray Wrenn gave Fred kudos in a recent Facebook post about the park by writing, “Fred, we love the lasting legacy that you have built up with us, sir!”
